The Crazy Teaparty - VRAID
VRAID is a shareware RAID solution for OS/2 (but you can get a key w/o
money now) that I wrote between 1996 and 2001. Instead of buying
an expensive RAID controller you
add this driver to your system, connect some drives (the more the
better) and are ready for operation!
This software features:
- Single (an array containing a single disk or array)
- Chaining (two or more disks or arrays combined by adding one
behind the other)
- Build and Rebuild processes are done in the background.
You can combine any combination of RAID levels to create the array OS/2
should use for file storage. There is no limit on how complicated
your array structure becomes.
This software package should technically work on every OS/2 version
above 2.0. It was tested under Warp 4 and the new Warp Server for
E-Business (uni). There are reports that it works well on a SMP
machine (I currently have no test machine with multiple CPUs). To get
the archive a little smaller and as most people use OS/2 Warp 3 or
higher I used the new LX compression available in that version.
If you still run an older version you have to unpack VSetup.exe with
LXLite or contact me and I will send you an uncompressed VSetup.exe.
